About NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship

See all the Nigerian scholarships you can apply for in 2019/2020 Academic session.

This was founded as a critical component of education intervention programme for our host communities in 1998 and later opened up to the rest of Nigeria in 2003.

A total of 2,833 undergraduates from various universities in Nigeria have benefited from the scholarship scheme with a spend of over N600 million. The introduction of online application and use of social media (Facebook) for information dissemination in 2012 made the selection process more efficient and cost effective, and increased awareness. The value of the scholarship has been reviewed upward from N100, 000 to N300, 000 per awardee for an academic year and it runs throughout the duration of the student’s course.

Each year, the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (Nigeria LNG Limited) offers the NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme for students in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

Nigeria LNG Undergraduate Scholarship 2018 Eligibility

Prospective beneficiaries must:

• Have very good West African Examination Certificate (WAEC) or National Examinations Council (NECO) result at ONE sitting
• Be top-scorer at the Joint Admissions & Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams
• Be a Full-Time Year-ONE student of any of the Nigerian universities
• Not be on any other scholarship award
• Not be a spouse, child, ward, or direct relation of staff of the Nigeria LNG Limited

Selection Criteria:

Beneficiaries are selected through a rigorous and transparent selection process. Final awardees go through rigorous and transparent selection processes. The best candidates are selected.

All recognized Nigerian institutions of higher learning, universities and polytechnics

Fields of study
All approved courses available at Nigerian institutions of higher learning

Successful beneficiaries are given yearly scholarship allowances for undergraduate study

How to Apply

Interested persons should visit the official website through the link below to apply. All applications MUST include the following scanned documents as the attachment:

1. recent passport-sized photograph,
2. WAEC or NECO result,
3. JAMB result,
4. University admission letter,
5. University student ID Card, and
6. Letter of identification from Local Government of Origin.
