Leonard Stanley Nmadi Ekeh is the COE of Zinox Group which comprises Zinox Telecom, Zinox Technologies Limited, and Konga – one of the biggest e-commerce platforms in Nigeria in particular and Africa, amongst other businesses. He is widely referred to as the father of technology in Nigeria. He was born in Ubomiri Mbaitoli, Imo State, Nigeria on the 22nd of February, 1956. Leo was born into a family of medical personnel, his father was a nurse and his mother was a dietician. He has five siblings; three brothers and two sisters.

He started his education in Owerri at Holy Ghost College. After his secondary school education, he moved to India, where he pursued his bachelor’s degree. Leo Stan holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Punjab University in India. He later proceeded to the United Kingdom, Ireland in particular where he studied risk management at the Cork University before being transferred to Nottingham University a place he got his master’s degree in the same course. It is worthy to note that as of today, Leo Stan also has two honorary doctorate degrees in business administration from Federal University of Agriculture, Markudi and Imo State University.
Leo Stan established Task Direct Limited in 1987, a company credited for starting desktop publishing and computer graphics in Nigeria. Leo Stan is known to have computerized over 90% of print media, advertising establishments and publishing firms in the country. Leo Stan is also the founder of ITECH solutions, a company credited for paving the way for IT solution in Nigeria in particular and West Africa as a whole. His company, Technology Distributions Limited also paved the way for IT distribution in West Africa. Technology Distributions Limited is arguably the leading IT distribution company in West Africa.
In the year 2001, Leo Stan impressed again by creation of Zinox Technologies Limited. This was to manufacture computer systems in the country; Nigeria. This feat was unprecedented in sub Saharan Africa. At the launch of the company, Zinox computer had already acquired the WHQL Certification needed for production, the first of its kind in Africa. He built on this feat in 2002, when he also acquired NIS ISO 2000: 9001 QMS Certification.
As a result of his giant strides in the IT solution world, Leo Stan was awarded the “Icon of Hope” of Nigeria by former president Olusegun Obasanjo in 2002. In October 2013, Zinox Technologies Limited made it public that they had began to produce its own computer tablet branded, Zipad. The company has it’s headquarter located in Lagos, Nigeria.
Zinox computer can easily be distinguished with the Naira sign. This makes the computer distinctive. Also, its power supply system has been carefully modeled with the erratic nature of the power supply in Nigeria in mind.
In a bid to expand his business enterprise, Leo Stan expanded his business franchise by acquiring one of the biggest e-commerce platforms in Nigeria in particular and Africa generally, Konga. Konga is inarguably amongst the first e-commerce platforms in Africa and it has developed overtime to become a resounding success. Konga since its inception now has a variety of arms in the industry of e-commerce some of which include KOS Express which controls the logistics aspect and the KongaPay which is an online payment platform with over a hundred thousand people subscribed.
Zinox group has proved to be the most integrated Information Technology Group in the whole of Africa. Furthermore, they have proven themselves to be competent in the aspect of products manufacturing, delivery of innovative solutions, and logistics.
Zinox Group contribution to the electoral process in Nigeria cannot be swept under the carpet. During the 2006 Voters’ registration exercise, the group saved the day by delivering 12,000 systems to INEC in 3 weeks. Also in the year 2011, the company was responsible for registering voters in the 2011 general elections by supplying 80,000 DDC machines in thirty-five days. This is an achievement for a company in Nigeria and also in the world. Zinox Group of recent just launched a Super Wi-Fi, with the launch of Zinox Telecom.
Leo Stan has also been faced with controversies in his numerous years of developing his stock in Nigeria. As of 2017, Zinox Group filed a law suit against a media outfit for allegedly reporting fake news against the company.
TD consecutively won the highest award in the country for revenue generation, market penetration and preferred partners in the continent particularly in West Africa for over ten years. The company is also the most awarded distributor of ICT in West Africa entirely.

- Named, Information Technology Personality of the Year in 2002, at the IT & Telecom Digest Award.
Leo Stan is fellow of the following polytechnics; Lagos State Polytechnic, Lagos, Federal Polytechnic, Idah, Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri, Imo State. He was also made a Distinguished Fellow of the Nigeria Law School.
In 2003, Leo Stan was named the Nigerian Science and Technology Achiever of the Year. He is currently a lifetime member of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs.
Chief Leo Stan is happily married to Chioma Stan Ekeh. They have been together for over 30 years and they are blessed with 5 children, three boys and two girls.
